GPS Addresses
The address for Freedom Plaza is 1301 Pennsylvania Avenue NW. It is a large plaza directly across the street from the JW Marriott hotel. And east of the White House. The best address for the Sylvan Theater, an amphitheater located on the grounds of the Washington Monument, is 1025 Raoul Wallenberg Pl SW; that will bring you behind the theater. The cross streets are Independence Ave SW & 15th Street NW.
Parking (Friday and Saturday)
Parking around Freedom Plaza is always unpredictable so it is recommended that you take the Metro. Another option is to book parking through SpotHero to guarantee a space in a parking garage.
Parking (Sunday)
Parking around the monuments is always unpredictable so it is recommended that you take the Metro. However, if you will be driving, the closest parking is at the Tidal Basin Parking Lot. The entrance is located at 1540 Maine Ave SW. If you park here, it is a short walk to the Sylvan Theater - just walk toward the Washington Monument or put "Sylvan Theater" into your GPS once you park. Metro (Friday and Saturday)
The closest stations to Freedom Plaza are Metro Center and Federal Triangle. The Metro trains do not run as often on weekends so arrive at the station early.
Metro (Sunday)
The closest station to the Sylvan Theater is Smithsonian Station. It’s then about 1/3 of a mile (a 7-10 minute walk). Once you leave the Metro station, walk toward the Washington Monument. The Metro trains do not run as often on weekends so arrive at the station early.
